“One of the hot topics the OPI Community Action Group is set to “jump into” first will be transit, Murray said, noting that he has reached out to the South Etobicoke Transit Action Committee (SETAC) as a partner in that campaign.

“In a vision document distributed at the Feb. 26 meeting, SETAC Chair Michael Olivier outlined some of his group’s starting goals for the transit campaign, including: advocating for better transit infrastructure and service in areas of Etobicoke where density is increasing greatly; analyzing and assessing the viability of new transit infrastructure to address increasing density in Etobicoke; addressing the reliability and crowding on surface transit routes; and removing artificial fare barriers across the GTHA.

““We look forward to hearing from people and getting suggestions and other ideas, too,” Olivier said.
