I wanted to know what the opinions of SETAC members in regards to the utility of LRT technology in South Etobicoke and in other parts of the city. Thanks Reply setac Post authorMarch 30, 2014 at 9:33 pm Thank you Stephen. SETAC sees LRT being a few decades away in South Etobicoke. However transit priority of the 501 and 508 streetcars along Lakeshore Blvd West is required now between Park Lawn and Humber Loop. Certainly LRT is more cost effective than subways in lower density suburban areas. This graphic gives a great comparison: http://www.torontoenvironment.org/campaigns/transit/transitmap/subwayplan.
