The TTC made major changes to how the 123 Shorncliffe bus operates, as of August 30. While the changes are described on their website SETAC has not seen any notices on stops, and the last time we checked the schedule at Kipling station showed the pre-change schedule.
The significant change is for morning rush, mid-day, and afternoon rush, i.e. start of service to about 7 PM weekdays. Evening and weekend service is same as before.
In the morning rush/Mid-day/Afternoon rush: 123C Kipling-Long Branch via North Queen alternates with 123D Kipling-Sherway Gardens via East Mall and Evans
The change makes the 123C the “default” routing, running seven days a week, start of service to finish. The default routing used to be the 123B — which itself was the 123 until the route relettering that happened this summer.
The 123A which runs only to Sherway Gardens is dead, replaced by a 123D which runs only to….Sherway Gardens. The 123A was a shortened version of the 123C and ran via North Queen/The Queensway/West Mall to Sherway. The 123D is a shortened version of the 123B, and runs via East Mall and Evans to Sherway.
The 123B now takes over the role the 123C used to have, as an evenings/weekends routing. Hopefully the TTC will see fit to put up some information on stop poles so riders can find out about the change!
